Puerto Vallarta Historical City Tour
For those who have never been to Puerto Vallarta, this tour is the perfect introduction to some of the sights. This Puerto Vallarta Historical City Tour gives you the opportunity to get a brief but thorough overview of the city and its history. Throughout the tour, you will also have a chance to do a little bit of shopping, to take in some very nice tropical scenery, and get a taste of the local flavor and culture.
We start our tour on the north side of Puerto Vallarta and make our way south. Our first stop is the famous, locally knows as the Malecon. Here we will have the change to admire some of the many statues lining the water, such as the whale statue and the sea horse statue (great photo opportunities!)
We then visit the main points of interest such as El Palacio Municipal (City Hall), the main plaza and other city landmarks, such as the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe (the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe), Gringo Gulch, and the flea market area. You’ll have some time for shopping on this part of the tour as well.
It is then time to leave Vallarta and continue south along the Bay and up to the residential zone of Conchas Chinas. At this time, we stop for a photo op and enjoy the wonderful view overlooking Los Arcos and the town of Mismaloya, famous for the filming of “The Night of the Iguana” starring Richard Burton. Here you can also browse a selection of Mexican handicrafts which make wonderful souvenirs.
The next stop is a tequila factory, where you will learn about the process by which tequila is made, how to drink tequila like a Mexican, and have a chance to taste different varieties of tequila. Here you will have the chance to taste new flavours of tequila that you never knew existed!
We continue our climb high into the subtropical rain forest of the Sierra Madre, where we’ll stop at a beautiful riverside restaurant where you can order lunch from the menu, or a drink from the bar, and take photographs next to the beautiful waterfalls.
This tour departs from Puerto Vallarta. Detailed instructions and times will be provided on your tour voucher upon booking your reservation.
